Not bad at all.
They’re not all this good.
This is using the Alpro Oat Barista milk. It’s okay, not my favourite taste-wise but it is easy to work with.
More importantly, this was made using some new beans from Skylark Coffee.
They do some really fantastic work in the speciality coffee world. If you’re ever looking for new roasters who not only make good beans but really, genuinely care about how the industry effects the planet and of course, the people involved in the supply chain, then these are you guys.
This was made from the Deluxe Blend. Nice and sweet, nothing too crazy but it really pops in a French press.
To me, coffee is the ultimate example of something that can be so beautiful yet has been commoditised so brutally.
Convenience really has won with coffee. Many self-proclaimed ‘coffee lovers’ mean that they have a tin of Nestle Azera that they crack out 4 times a day. And when they fancy something really special they go to Starbucks.
Why do I think this?
Because I know this to be true. I used to be that coffee lover.
Like many things, good coffee is a journey. It’s one that has brought me immense joy & fulfilments, new friends, and taken me to new places.
